OpenAI puts GPT-6 in front of every ChatGPT user: "Intelligent UI" answers with charts, buttons and tools, paid tiers from 7 October and Free from today
OpenAI's own release notes: ChatGPT "can now combine text, visuals, and interactive elements to fit your question"; Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise run GPT-6 Sol, Free and Go run GPT-6 Luna, and the model "can also begin answering while it continues to think or use tools". The announcement page itself would not load for us; the words here are OpenAI's release notes and its own post.

OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes carry a 7 October entry, "GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT": "We're introducing GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in ChatGPT. ChatGPT can now combine text, visuals, and interactive elements to fit your question, from side-by-side comparisons and diagrams to tools you can use directly in the conversation, such as calculators, bill splitters, and games. It can choose the format automatically, and still use a simple text answer when that works best."
The second change. "GPT-6 can also begin answering while it continues to think or use tools, then add more findings without another prompt. You can start reading before the full answer is ready."
Who gets which model, and when. "The rollout starts globally today for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise in the Chat tab, and expands to Free and Go starting tomorrow" - today, 8 October. "Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise use GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna. Intelligent UI is available from Instant through Extra High reasoning. The Pro reasoning option continues to use GPT-6 Astra and doesn't support Intelligent UI. The models powering Work and Codex aren't changing with this release." Enterprise availability "depends on workspace admin settings".
OpenAI's own post, 7 October. "GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, now rolling out in ChatGPT for everyone. Intelligent UI in ChatGPT delivers fast, interactive answers that make everyday questions more visual, complex topics easier to grasp, and interactive tools for your task available on the spot."
Read beside this morning's other launch. GPT-6 Luna, the model Free and Go users now get, is the one Anthropic set Claude Haiku 5.5 against on its own page today - 48.9% to Haiku's 72.4% on OSWorld 2.1, by Anthropic's measurement.
What the pages do not say. No count of users, no benchmark for GPT-6 Sol or Luna inside ChatGPT, no figure for how often the model chooses an interactive answer over text, and nothing on what Intelligent UI costs OpenAI to serve to a free tier. The announcement page at openai.com returned "This page couldn't load" to our reader and to a real browser; the release notes and the post are OpenAI's own words and carry the same facts.
