The City of Austin issued four building permits on Friday 23 October for a new apartment development at 6400 FM 969 Road in 78724, its Issued Construction Permits record shows. Each row opens with the same words, "New construction of a multifamily development consisting of", and then names one building:

  • Building 1 - "Four-story apartment building with 176 dwelling units", 168,250 square feet of new floor area (permit 2026-137370 BP).
  • Building 2 - "Apartment building with 60 dwelling units", four floors and 56,043 square feet (2026-137371 BP).
  • A "New single-story leasing office" of 2,941 square feet (2026-137372 BP) and a "New single-story amenity building" of 2,548 square feet (2026-137373 BP).

The city describes the lot as "LOT 1 BLK A STONE RIDGE SEC 1 RESUB OF RESUB", in council district 1. All four permits were applied for on 24 June 2026, and the record gives each an expiry date of 22 April 2027.

The rows carry no project value. The declared total valuation is $1 on every one, with the building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing valuations at zero, so no dollar figure is given here. The homes are the city's own count: 176 dwelling units in Building 1 and 60 in Building 2.

On the same city datasets, 78724 had seven permits issued in the 72 hours to Sunday morning, four of them for new construction, and 30 current short-term rental licences. The city's permit detail pages sit behind a captcha to our reader, so the dataset rows are the record quoted here. The ZIP's own page carries its full record, and what's coming lists the city's open cases there.
